Broadway Classics, Reinvented: Grigorii Palamarchuk’s Solo Piano Journey into Fairy Tales

New York-based pianist Grigorii Palamarchuk is taking a fresh approach to the songs we all grew up with. In his latest album, Reimagined Musicals: Solo Piano, Palamarchuk strips away the elaborate orchestral arrangements and lyrics of famous showtunes, leaving only the piano to tell the story.

The album features intricate, improvisational arrangements of iconic music from Les Misérables, The Wizard of Oz, and The Greatest Showman.

For Palamarchuk, this project isn’t just about covering popular songs; it’s about exploration. By treating these familiar Broadway melodies with the depth usually reserved for classical repertoire or jazz improvisation, he uncovers new emotional layers in the music.

“My goal was to look at these stories through a more mature, intimate lens,” says Palamarchuk. “When you remove the lyrics, the melody has to speak for itself. It allows the listener to hear the harmony and the structure in a completely new way.”

The result is a collection that feels both nostalgic and surprisingly new. Tracks like “Beauty and the Beast” or “Edelweiss” are transformed from sing-alongs into contemplative piano pieces that work just as well for focused listening as they do for creating a calming atmosphere.

Based in NYC, Palamarchuk has built a reputation for blending technical precision with deep emotional expression. With Reimagined Musicals, he invites listeners to step back into the world of magic and fantasy, guided only by the eighty-eight keys of the piano.

The album is available now on all major streaming platforms.
