Broadway International Film Festival Announces 18th Edition for August 15-17, 2025, at Gardena City Hall

The Broadway International Film Festival (BIFFLA) will take place from August 15 to 17, 2025, at Gardena City Hall (1700 West 162nd Street, Gardena, CA), featuring international films, VIP events, cultural celebrations, and industry programming. All proceeds will benefit Pico Union Hope, a recognized California nonprofit since 2017 and a 501(c)(3) organization since 2020, supporting families affected by ICE raids and feeding the homeless.

Founded by Emilio Vega, BIFFLA marks its 18th edition in 2025, gathering film professionals and audiences from around the world for a three-day celebration of cinema and culture.

Event Schedule & Highlights:

Friday, August 15

• Opening Ceremony & Red Carpet at 5:00 PM
• Dignitaries include MCs Sandra Chavarria Catruz and Keyla Wood, with Special Guests of Honor: Mayor Tascha Cerda (City of Gardena), Peru’s Consul General Jaime Casafranca, Honduras’ Vice Consul Fernando Flores, APIC President Victor Escobar, Milagros Lizárraga (founder of Peruvian Village), and others.

Saturday, August 16

• Industry Panel: “The Present and Future of Cinema” between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
• Panelists include Jerry Velasco (former El Monte Mayor), Vance Owen (entertainment attorney), John F. Estrada (NBC Universal), Patricia Lara Ladd (best-selling author), Carlos Melendez (filmmaker), Natalia Fuentealba (casting director), and others.
• Film Screenings: Full day of diverse international programming.

Sunday, August 17

• Peruvian Cultural Celebration
• A showcase of Peruvian cuisine, films, and honored guests, including Peruvian Consul Ministro Jaime Rafael Casafranca, Milagros Lizárraga (Peruvian Village), and Patricia Lara Ladd, author of the Amazon Bestseller “Negocios Con Propósito”.
• Featured Peruvian films include “La Llamada” (Abraham Morales & Flor de Maria Chahua), “Miracle in The Highlands” (Ruben Inzian), and “Un Mundo para Julius” (Rossana Diaz Costa).
