Double Trouble: The Felber Twins on Targeting British F4 Glory with Fortec

From starting their engines at twelve years old in Akron, Ohio, to battling USA’s elite karters to US Formula 4, American twins Cash and Roman Felber have always been on the fast track. Now, the 15-year-old brothers are taking the next major step in their careers, announcing that they will join the legendary Fortec Motorsport for the 2026 Wera F4 British Championship.

We caught up with the twins during their testing program in Spain to discuss their move to single-seaters, the pressure of joining a team that trained F1 stars, and their goals for their rookie season.

Q: You’ve just announced that you’ll be racing in the 2026 Wera F4 British Championship with Fortec Motorsport. After spending the last few years competing in the US Formula 4 Series, what motivated the decision to move to the UK for your next round in single seaters?

Cash and Roman Felber:

Compared to all the other series the British F4 cars are most evenly matched and equalized mid season to maintain the engine equality.

Q: Fortec has a legendary reputation, having developed drivers like Charles Leclerc and Daniel Ricciardo. How does it feel to be signed to such a historic team, and what has the relationship been like with Oliver Dutton and the crew so far?

Cash and Roman Felber:

We wanted to find a team that had history and success with a proven track record in winning.  Working with Oliver and the crew has been amazing as their attention to detail and wanting to help us win is great.

Q: You are currently in Spain testing the F4 cars. How has the transition been from the Formula 4 Jr series  to the British F4 machinery, and what are the biggest differences you’re feeling behind the wheel?

Cash and Roman Felber:

There are some major differences from the brake shape, to throttle response and in the USA we used Hankook tires whereas in British F4 using pirelli tires that need more prep to get them in the correct performance window.

Q: Moving into a highly competitive grid like British F4 is a big challenge. As you look toward the 2026 season, what specific goals have you set for yourselves—are you focused on the Rookie title or chasing overall podiums right away?

Cash and Roman Felber:

Unfortunately we can’t get the Rookie title as we have raced in the USA, but we are looking to gain points every race and finish on the podium to wrap up the season in the top 3.

Q:  You’ve spent the last two seasons honing your racecraft in the US, including a standout year in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship. How has that specific experience on American tracks prepared you for the aggressive style of racing you’ll face on the FIA Global Pathway in Europe?

Cash and Roman Felber:

The season in the USA, has prepped us for race craft, putting laps together to secure Pole Positions and putting up Ws.
