IMPALA puts the SPOZZ Manifesto in the Spotlight of its 2025 EDI Report

IMPALA, the European association representing over 6,000 independent music companies, has released its 2025 Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Report, reaffirming its commitment to building a fairer and more inclusive music sector across Europe.

Among the initiatives highlighted is the SPOZZ Manifesto — a forward-looking statement outlining strategies to empower under-represented artists, independent labels, and diverse music communities.

By referencing the Manifesto, IMPALA underscores the rise of artist-driven, ground-up frameworks for equity and inclusion. The SPOZZ Manifesto aligns closely with IMPALA’s own 12-point EDI Charter, adding a fresh dimension of accountability and innovation.

The report also introduces IMPALA’s new EDI Toolkit for member organizations, combining self-assessment, benchmarks, and training. The inclusion of SPOZZ serves as a key example of the kind of transformative initiatives IMPALA aims to promote.

“We’re honored that IMPALA recognized the SPOZZ Manifesto as a catalyst for positive change,” said Christian H. Müller, Founder of SPOZZ. “Our vision has always been to make fairness, transparency, and diversity the foundation of the new music economy.”

For SPOZZ, this recognition strengthens its position within Europe’s independent-music ecosystem — showing that collaboration and inclusion are now essential pillars of a sustainable future for artists and creators.

SPOZZ, the community-owned music network, unveils its Manifesto — for a fair and rewarding music economy.

The Manifesto outlines SPOZZ’s commitment to building a fair, transparent, and sustainable music ecosystem.

Among its core principles:

  • Efficient & Fair Payments: Rights holders are paid transparently and directly, without hidden costs, intermediaries, or unfair income pooling.
  • Fair Compensation for Artists: Creators receive their full share instantly, with no minimum payout thresholds or delays.
  • Transparency & Accountability: Transactions are recorded on publicly accessible ledgers, ensuring trust and fairness.
  • Fan Freedom & Choice: Music discovery is free from manipulation; empowered fans are at the center of the experience.
  • Ethical AI & Practices: AI-generated music must be clearly labeled and is subject to restricted monetization.
  • No Payola: Pay-to-play schemes are strictly banned.
  • Fair Charts & Discovery: Rankings reflect genuine fan engagement and real per-stream payments, not manipulation.
  • Decentralization & Independence: SPOZZ resists monopolistic control, keeping artists and fans at the heart of the ecosystem.
  • Community & Collaboration: Artists and fans shape the future of SPOZZ together.
  • Sustainability & Responsibility: SPOZZ pledges to continuously evolve in alignment with ethical, fair, and equitable standards.
