21-year-old Jackson flower shop burns down

A florist in Jackson that has been in business for 21 years burned down Friday night after an event. Banks’ flower shop on Flag Chapel Road burned down after a reception was held at the location. said her Timekia Ford, one of the owner’s daughters. Her daughters say her father was one of her pillars in the community, including providing free flowers for funerals. Host a weekly Bible study. The owner says she is determined to keep her business going.

Timekia Ford, one of the owner’s daughters, said, “It was hard to see my father’s hard-earned business go up in flames. There’s a fire station across the street.”

Daughters say their father was a pillar of the community, from providing free flowers at funerals to hosting weekly Bible studies.
