LOS ANGELES, CA — Award-winning actor and producer Don Worley has joined the cast of acclaimed filmmaker Jamie Adams’ latest feature, Tangled Up in Blue, continuing a recent run of high-profile acting projects while showcasing his background in improvisational performance.
The film reunites Adams with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who returns to the screen as an actor opposite international music icon Kylie Minogue. The ensemble cast also includes Jason Isaacs, Allison Williams, Sofia Boutella, RZA, Hugh Skinner, and Craig Roberts.
Produced by Visor Entertainment, Tangled Up in Blue centers on legendary music manager Jake Stroud, who finds himself reflecting on a lifetime of choices while stranded in a hotel bar between an old love and an unexpected new connection. The project continues Adams’ signature filmmaking approach, relying heavily on improvisation and naturalistic performances inspired by the French New Wave.
For Worley, the role presented an opportunity to work in one of the industry’s most distinctive creative environments. Rather than following a traditional screenplay, Adams encourages actors to develop scenes organically through instinct, conversation, and authentic emotional responses.
The approach is one that aligns closely with Worley’s own training. Before building his career as an actor and producer, he studied improvisation at Chicago’s renowned Second City, one of the country’s most respected training grounds for comedic and improvisational performers.
“Improvisation requires trust, listening, and being completely present,” said Worley. “That’s what makes Jamie’s filmmaking so exciting. Every scene feels alive because you’re discovering it together as it unfolds. My training at Second City taught me to trust those instincts, and it made this experience especially rewarding.”
The project also marks a longtime personal milestone for Worley.
“Like so many filmmakers and actors, I’ve admired Quentin Tarantino’s work throughout my career,” Worley said. “His films have influenced generations of storytellers, and I’ve always been a tremendous fan of his work. Having the opportunity to be part of a film where Quentin is acting is incredibly exciting. It’s one of those experiences you appreciate because you know how rare it is.”
Worley has continued to expand his acting career while simultaneously producing projects through his company, Second Chance Pictures. His recent credits include the award-winning thriller A Time for Sunset, currently streaming on Apple TV and Amazon, the upcoming Neil Burger-directed action thriller Barracuda starring Anthony Mackie and Dafne Keen, The Tempering opposite Angie Harmon and David A.R. White, and the comedy ManDate featuring Jon Lovitz.
His growing résumé reflects an increasing range of collaborations with both independent filmmakers and established Hollywood directors, spanning dramatic features, comedies, thrillers, and emerging digital formats.
Before transitioning into entertainment full time, Worley built a nationally recognized legal career, earning distinction as one of America’s leading trial attorneys. Today, he continues balancing acting and producing while seeking projects that offer creative challenges and opportunities to collaborate with respected filmmakers.
Tangled Up in Blue marks Adams’ second collaboration with Tarantino following Only What We Carry, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival. Adams has become known internationally for his improvisational filmmaking style, creating productions that emphasize spontaneity, collaboration, and authentic performances over traditional scripted dialogue.
For Worley, the experience represents another meaningful step in an acting career that continues to gain momentum.
“Every project teaches you something different,” Worley said. “Working in an improvisational film challenges you to stay present, trust your instincts, and fully commit to each moment. Being part of a cast like this and working with Jamie Adams has been an experience I’ll always value.”
As Second Chance Pictures continues expanding its slate of feature films and original series, Worley’s latest acting role further demonstrates his commitment to pursuing diverse creative opportunities while working alongside some of the industry’s most accomplished filmmakers.
