L-Charge Appoints Angela Strand to Board to Scale Distributed Energy Infrastructure for Electrification

Redwood City, CA – As electrification shifts from pilot programs to operational scale, the constraint is no longer vehicle supply – it is access to reliable, deployable power. L-Charge today announced the appointment of Angela Strand to its Board of Directors, strengthening its ability to scale distributed energy infrastructure in markets where grid capacity is not keeping pace with demand.

L-Charge operates as an infrastructure platform, delivering on-site power and charging as a service – enabling fleets to bring energy online in weeks rather than waiting years for utility upgrades. Its systems function as a parallel power layer, allowing sites to operate, scale, and generate revenue independently of grid timelines.

Strand joins the company with more than 25 years of experience guiding capital-intensive businesses through periods of rapid expansion, restructuring, and market transition. She currently serves as Board Chair of Gateway Fleets, a Partners Group portfolio company, and has held leadership roles including Executive Chair and Interim CEO of Lordstown Motors, Board Chair of SEA Electric, and Independent Director at Nuvve Holding Corp.

Her experience spans capital markets, governance, and operational scaling across electrification and energy – bringing a track record of aligning infrastructure deployment with financing strategy and execution.

“Electrification is becoming an infrastructure problem, not a technology problem,” said Stephen Kelley, CEO of L-Charge. “We are building the power layer that allows fleets to operate without waiting on the grid. Angela’s experience in scaling capital-intensive platforms will be critical as we expand that infrastructure across markets.”

L-Charge’s model converts constrained or unpowered sites into active energy hubs, delivering predictable, per-kWh pricing and high uptime without upfront capital investment. This allows operators to deploy charging capacity in line with fleet growth, rather than grid availability.

“Across the sector, the challenge is no longer whether electrification will happen, but how quickly infrastructure can be deployed to support it,” said Angela Strand. “Platforms that can deliver flexible, distributed power will play a central role in that transition. L-Charge is building that capability, and I look forward to supporting its next stage of growth.”

The appointment comes as L-Charge expands across key fleet segments including rideshare, transit, and logistics – where speed of deployment, reliability, and cost predictability directly impact operations.
