Long Island Healthcare Entrepreneur to Open New York’s First fit20 Studio in Miller Place

Founder of 23-location physical therapy practice adds international strength-training franchise to healthcare portfolio, with first New York studio planned for fall 2026

A new approach to strength training is coming to Long Island as healthcare entrepreneur and physical therapist Giovanni “Gio” Dinsay prepares to open New York’s first fit20 studio in Miller Place.

Dinsay is the founder of Within Normal Limits Physical Therapy, a Long Island healthcare organization where he has grown to 23 locations. After years of helping patients recover function, manage pain and return to everyday life, he is expanding that work into a different part of the health continuum: building and maintaining strength before physical decline limits independence.

The new fit20 studio, planned for 691 Route 25A in Miller Place, will introduce the community to a highly personalized, recovery-centered model of strength training. Each member follows an individualized program with a dedicated trainer and a recurring appointment, using controlled resistance training designed to produce measurable progress while allowing sufficient recovery between sessions.

For Dinsay, the decision to bring fit20 to Long Island is closely connected to what he has seen throughout his career in physical therapy. “In healthcare, we spend a tremendous amount of time helping people regain function after something has gone wrong,” Dinsay said. “Strength plays such a significant role in how well people move, recover and maintain their independence. fit20 gives us an opportunity to help people continue building that capacity in a structured and highly supervised environment.”

fit20 was founded in the Netherlands and has grown internationally around a simple principle: strength improves when training stimulus and recovery are both treated as essential parts of the process. Rather than emphasizing crowded gyms, high-volume workouts or constant exercise variety, the model centers on consistency, precision, personal supervision and progressive development of strength.

That distinction is part of what fit20 USA believes makes the concept especially relevant as more Americans look for practical ways to preserve muscle, mobility and independence as they age. “There is a growing gap between healthcare and traditional fitness,” said Rebecca Church, COO of fit20 USA. “A patient may finish physical therapy, or someone may simply realize they are losing strength as they get older, but they still need a credible next step. fit20 is designed to be that ongoing strength-training resource: personal, measurable and built around the individual.”

The Miller Place studio also marks an important expansion milestone for fit20 USA. The company’s U.S. headquarters are in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the Long Island studio will be the brand’s first location in New York.

Dr. Ben Litalien, CEO of fit20 USA, said Dinsay’s healthcare experience made him a strong fit to introduce the concept to the state. “Gio understands the relationship between strength, function and quality of life from a clinical perspective,” Litalien said. “He has also built a substantial healthcare organization and knows what it takes to serve a community well. That combination of healthcare expertise and entrepreneurship is exactly the kind of leadership we want as fit20 enters a new market.”

The studio is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. Before opening, fit20 Miller Place is growing a Founding Insider list for local residents who want early information, opening updates and the opportunity to be among the first to experience the studio.

Dinsay sees the location as more than a new business venture. He views it as an extension of a broader mission to help people remain capable of doing the things that matter to them. “The goal is not simply to get stronger for the sake of a number on a machine,” he said. “It is to have the strength to keep living your life, doing your work, enjoying your family and staying independent for as long as possible.”

fit20 USA is continuing to expand through qualified single-unit and multi-unit franchise partners in select U.S. markets.
