Looking Back at the 2025 Dating and Social Discovery Conference: Brownie Marie on Fox Hunters Club

Modern dating often frustrates women seeking serious, long-term connections. Millennial women who prefer older, established partners face a specific challenge. Traditional dating platforms skew heavily towards younger demographics and casual encounters. Niche age-gap websites almost exclusively promote transactional arrangements. This leaves a significant gap in the market for individuals who want genuine, committed relationships without financial expectations.

Brownie Marie recognised this missing space and founded the Fox Hunters Club dating app. Her platform connects millennial women with Gen X and older men who seek authentic, non-transactional partnerships. She presented her vision to industry leaders at the 2025 Dating and Social Discovery Conference in New York. In this interview, we discuss her experience at the event, the realities of modern age-gap dating, and how her platform creates a safe space for intentional romance.

Q: You spoke at the 2025 Dating and Social Discovery Conference in New York. What core message did you share with industry leaders at the event?

Brownie Marie: I was on a panel titled “The Power of Precision: How Niche Apps Build Deeper Connections in 2025.” My core message is that while the dating industry is oversaturated, there remains opportunity for app founders pursuing niche markets. That is a key way to combat swipe fatigue, burnout, and the overall jadedness daters commonly feel.

Q: Millennial women often struggle to find serious age-gap relationships on mainstream platforms. How does Fox Hunters Club eliminate the transactional expectations found on other niche apps?

Brownie Marie: We are the first and only dating app focused on non-transactional, age-gap dating for millennials. Being the first, I am continuously pushing back against the stigmas our culture has around age-gap relationships. Firstly, I make sure to promote intentional dating in my press releases, interviews, and online content. I also explicitly state “No Sugar Babies” in Fox Hunters Club marketing. We further eliminate transactional expectations by focusing on millennial women and not Gen Z. For example, we do not advertise on TikTok, and we ensure our partnerships and collaborations are with millennial and Gen X-aligned brands. Lastly, we have a zero-tolerance policy for solicitation. Those who violate our terms are banned without exception.

Q: The dating industry constantly shifts. What specific trends in user behaviour prompted you to launch an app strictly for non-transactional dating?

Brownie Marie: I launched Fox Hunters Club in 2024, when the average millennial was 35 years old. This is a key age, as women are already emotionally mature, but men fully emotionally mature around 43 years old. As women seek to settle down but find a lack of suitable partners, Fox Hunters Club was introduced as an alternative. We also focused on in-person events from the start– hosting free mixers in NYC and Philadelphia, sponsoring charity events, and giving away date nights as part of our DMV “Summer of Love.” This addresses the trend of users preferring in-person meetings over swiping.

Q: Operating a specialised dating platform requires strict user verification. How do you ensure that members align with the serious intentions of your community?

Brownie Marie: While we are exploring features such as ID verification, the current priorities are increasing awareness of Fox Hunters Club and reducing onboarding friction. However, we have strict policies around solicitation, regularly audit profiles, and encourage our members to report and block anyone asking for money or gifts. We also keep the “No Sugar Babies” messaging at the forefront, and there is no “casual encounter” option on Fox Hunters Club. We are intentional with the words we use to describe our members and our mission to distance ourselves from sugar and sugar-coded websites.

Q: Speaking at a major industry event in New York provided high visibility. How has participating in that conference helped you expand the reach of Fox Hunters Club over the past year?

Brownie Marie: Speaking at Global Dating Insights’ 2025 Dating & Social Discovery North America Conference was truly an honor. That opportunity led to increased media coverage of Fox Hunters Club and myself as a thought leader in the dating industry. The year culminated with me being named one of Global Dating Insights’ 2025 Women in Dating, alongside executives from Bumble and other major brands.

Q: What advice do you give to successful women who feel exhausted by standard dating platforms and want to find a mature, intentional partner?

Brownie Marie: Firstly, don’t give up. Secondly, hone in on exactly what you want, and focus your time and efforts there. For example, more than half of Hinge users are Gen Z, so the app may not be worth the effort if you seek maturity. Rather than casting a wide net and wasting time, seek out targeted sites and in-person opportunities to find your match. Think of the types of activities, hangouts, and events that would attract your ideal partner. Then go there! And keep going! Lastly, be open to traveling to find a partner, especially if your area is not ideal for a mature, intentional mate.

This conversation emphasises the clear need for specialised platforms in the modern dating market. Users clearly want secure environments that match their specific relationship goals. Brownie Marie proves that building an app based on intentionality attracts a dedicated and serious user base. Her appearance in New York highlighted the growing demand for authentic connection tools over casual swiping apps.

Creating safe spaces for non-transactional romance will remain a top priority as the dating industry matures. Platforms that prioritise genuine compatibility over superficial metrics will continue to gain traction. Fox Hunters Club provides a practical, effective model for how technology can support real, lasting relationships.
