At Jason Calacanis’s LAUNCH Festival in San Francisco, founder Nicholas Jarecki took the stage with a simple pitch: email marketing should cost $20 a month. Not $200. Not $700. Just $20 — flat, with unlimited sends and unlimited contacts. The judges agreed, awarding TopSend the Best in Show prize, and LAUNCH Fund made an investment on the spot.
The email marketing industry has operated on per-contact pricing for over a decade. The more subscribers a business has, the more it pays — even if half of those contacts never open an email. For small businesses, this creates a frustrating dynamic: they’re penalized for growing their list. A local restaurant with 50,000 loyalty members, a clothing brand building its audience, a nonprofit with a large donor list — they all face the same problem.
The underlying cost to send email is a fraction of a cent. Email delivery runs on basic infrastructure. The gap between what it costs to send and what businesses are charged is enormous. Jarecki built TopSend to close that gap.
“Every email marketing platform charges more as you grow. The industry standard is per-subscriber pricing that punishes small businesses for building their list,” said Jarecki. “We built TopSend to be the opposite. Flat pricing, unlimited everything, and an API that AI coding agents can use out of the box.”
Affordable pricing is the hook, but the technology underneath is what sets TopSend apart. The platform includes a built-in AI assistant that creates email campaigns from plain English. A user can type “announce our new product to wellness customers” and the AI writes the subject line, body copy, and prepares the email — ready to review and send.
TopSend also ships a developer API and Node.js SDK designed for AI coding agents like Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s Codex. These agents can create campaigns, manage contacts, build automations, and trigger sends on their own — no dashboard required.
During his LAUNCH Festival pitch, Jarecki demonstrated TopSend’s AI agent live on stage. He gave it a single prompt, and it wrote, designed, and prepared a complete email campaign in under 10 seconds. No templates, no drag-and-drop builders, no manual formatting — just a sentence describing what he wanted, and the campaign was ready.
For small business owners who don’t have a marketing team or hours to spend in a dashboard, that kind of simplicity changes what’s possible.
TopSend is live now with a free tier offering 5,000 emails per month and a Pro plan at $20 per month. The company is rolling out Shopify integration, expanded automation workflows, and additional AI capabilities in the coming months. An iOS app has been submitted to the Apple App Store.
