Understand Tech Launches AI-In-a-Box, a Sovereign Enterprise AI Platform Deployable On-Premise

Production-ready AI infrastructure for regulated, air-gapped, and mission-critical environments

Cannes, France –– Understand Tech today announced the launch of AI-In-a-Box, a production-ready enterprise AI platform designed to run entirely inside an organization’s own infrastructure. Introduced at WAICF, AI-In-a-Box enables local large language model (LLM) inference, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and enterprise AI workflows with zero cloud dependency and no external network calls.

Enterprise AI, Delivered as Infrastructure

AI-In-a-Box combines integrated hardware, the full Understand Tech software platform, and secure offline update services into a fully managed on-premise operating model. Data, models, and computation remain entirely on-site, enabling full operational control while delivering enterprise-grade performance, governance, and scalability.

While initially delivered on NVIDIA-based platforms, AI-In-a-Box is fundamentally a software-defined enterprise AI stack. It integrates local LLM inference, RAG pipelines, multi-user governance, API access, workflow orchestration, and encrypted storage into a single production-grade system designed for real-world enterprise deployment.

“Enterprises don’t need more AI experimentation, they need production systems they can trust,” said Naama BAK, Co-founder & CEO of Understand Tech. “Customers consistently asked for enterprise AI deployed on their own infrastructure, without cloud dependencies, token limits, or unpredictable costs. AI-In-a-Box was built side-by-side with these organizations to deliver secure, scalable AI infrastructure that keeps data, models, and computation entirely inside the customer perimeter.”

Key Capabilities

  • Fully offline / air-gapped operation with no external network calls
  • Local LLM inference and RAG over on-site knowledge bases and vector stores
  • Multi-user access with role-based controls and audit-ready logs
  • Encrypted storage and enterprise-grade governance
  • API access and enterprise integrations for automation and custom AI applications
  • Secure offline platform and model lifecycle updates

Built for Regulated and High-Security Environments

AI-In-a-Box is designed for organizations operating under strict data governance and security requirements, including defense and government agencies, critical infrastructure operators, healthcare and life sciences institutions, financial services firms, and R&D-intensive enterprises.

By removing cloud exposure while preserving full AI capabilities, AI-In-a-Box enables enterprises to move from pilot experimentation to production deployment without compromising compliance or intellectual property.

Availability

AI-In-a-Box is available now as an annual subscription that includes the appliance, the Understand Tech software platform, maintenance, secure updates, and enterprise support.
