Author Mikayla Williams notes, “men are overlooked, and not just on Valentine’s Day. That’s one reason I wrote ‘The ABC’s of Men.’ It’s a meaningful gift he won’t forget; what he wants but won’t ask for – appreciation. In writing this book, I wanted to lead by example how men ought to be treated: with dignity, honor and respect.”

Don’t be egotistical. Don’t be toxic.”
Through her poem, she aims to shift gender expectations toward positive, healthy masculinity, because “men who use their words to bring out the best in everyone deserve the same from us.” She adds, “We, the ladies in your life, may not say it all the time, but we value what you bring to the table.”
