Edinburgh, Scotland — Kiwitaxi, a global airport transfer provider operating in over 105 countries and serving 438 airports worldwide, has launched its first mobile application in response to increasing demand for mobile-first travel booking across Europe.
Europe’s travel technology sector is undergoing a structural shift. According to Phocuswright’s 2024 research, online penetration in Europe has reached 68%, with mobile bookings now dominating utility segments like rail and car rentals at over 60%.
The shift goes beyond device preference. With travel price inflation now the top concern for nearly 1 in 5 Europeans, travelers are moving away from the price variability of ride-hailing and toward advance booking with fixed pricing. Recent data shows that up to 50% of European travelers now pre-arrange their entire journey’s logistics before leaving home, fueling a 7.5% annual growth rate in the pre-booked transfer market.
Kiwitaxi’s numbers mirror these trends. For two consecutive years, mobile devices have accounted for 68% of all bookings on the platform. Over the past year, the company recorded 25% growth in completed pre-booked rides and expanded its partner network by 17%.
“Launching our first app is a direct response to how the European airport transfer market is evolving, with a strong focus on localization and ease of use across different countries,” said Marie Borisova, CEO of Kiwitaxi.
The app aligns with Kiwitaxi’s visual identity introduced in 2025 and is built around clarity, speed, and transparency. Compared to the website, it offers a simplified booking flow, cleaner interface, and integrated payment options including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. The app combines core services such as wallet sync, account management, and smart search in one interface.
Completing a booking requires just a few taps. Users enter pickup location, destination, and vehicle type. After checkout, trips can be added to Apple Wallet or synced with calendars. The app includes 173 screens optimized for speed and usability.
The home screen features a Highlights section with feature updates, travel tips from Travelmate (Kiwitaxi’s travel media platform), and company news. Every trip lives in a dedicated space where travelers can view order summaries, track rides in real time, and manage transfer details.
“European travelers increasingly prefer pre-booked, fixed-price airport transfers, and the app is built to support that shift in a mobile-first environment,” Borisova said.
The app is available now on iOS and Android.
