Michigan Marijuana Tours Is Turning Cannabis Into a Tourism Experience in Michigan

BATTLE CREEK, MI, UNITED STATES,  Michigan’s cannabis industry has rapidly evolved from retail storefronts to a full-scale cultural and economic movement. Now, a new company is giving consumers an opportunity to experience the industry from the inside out.

Michigan Marijuana Tours has officially launched a series of guided cannabis cultivation experiences designed to give guests rare behind-the-scenes access to licensed cannabis facilities across Michigan.

Founded by cannabis entrepreneur and educator Charlena Berry — who also founded The Cake House Battle Creek, a multi-location cannabis dispensary brand operating throughout Michigan — the company combines transportation, facility access, cannabis education, and immersive storytelling into a structured tourism experience built around Michigan’s expanding cannabis economy.

The tours depart from select Michigan locations, including Battle Creek, Ann Arbor, and Detroit , and transport guests directly to licensed cultivation and processing facilities where they can learn how cannabis is grown, handled, processed, and prepared for market.

“Our goal is to pull back the curtain on the cannabis industry,” said Berry. “Most consumers have never seen what happens behind the dispensary counter. These tours allow people to experience the scale, compliance, craftsmanship, and culture of cannabis in a way that’s educational, transparent, and memorable.”

The company recently hosted 78 guests across six launch tours during its 420 kickoff weekend and plans to continue expanding experiences throughout the summer of 2026.

Unlike nightlife-focused cannabis experiences, Michigan Marijuana Tours is positioning itself within the growing experiential tourism market — focusing on education, cultivation access, and authentic industry experiences.

As cannabis legalization continues to evolve across the United States, tourism surrounding the industry has emerged alongside more traditional experiential markets such as wineries, breweries, and distillery tours. Michigan Marijuana Tours aims to position Michigan as part of that growing movement.

The Growing Pains Cultivation Experience

One of the company’s flagship experiences is the Growing Pains Cultivation Experience, which gives guests guided access to active cultivation environments operated by one of Michigan’s most recognized cannabis cultivation teams.

During the experience, guests suit up and enter real operational cultivation spaces where they learn directly from founders and cultivation staff about genetics, environmental controls, cultivation methods, post-harvest handling, compliance systems, and the operational realities of running a licensed cannabis facility.

The experience is hosted in partnership with Growing Pains, a Michigan cannabis company known for premium flower production and a highly engaged consumer following.

Seth Miller, founder of Growing Pains, believes the tours help bridge the gap between consumers and the realities of licensed cannabis cultivation.

“Partnering with Michigan Marijuana Tours has been a great experience for us,” Miller said. “A lot of people consume cannabis every day, but they never really get to see the amount of work, precision, and passion that goes into growing it at a high level. These tours give people real insight into the process and help them understand the industry in a completely different way.”

For many guests, the tour represents the first time seeing the professionalism and infrastructure required to operate within Michigan’s legal cannabis market. Guests are guided through cultivation workflows, flowering rooms, operational procedures, and discussions surrounding genetics, compliance, and product quality — offering a level of access most consumers never experience.

The Hytek Cultivation & Processing Experience

Michigan Marijuana Tours is also expanding its experiences through a partnership with Hytek, one of Michigan’s most recognizable cannabis lifestyle and cultivation brands.

The upcoming Hytek Cultivation & Processing Experience departing from Ann Arbor will provide guests access not only to cultivation operations, but also to cannabis processing workflows and behind-the-scenes brand operations.

Known for its strong consumer following, streetwear-inspired branding, and premium cannabis products, Hytek has become one of Michigan’s standout cannabis brands by blending cultivation quality with cultural identity.

The Hytek experience will focus on how cannabis moves from cultivation through processing and ultimately into retail products available on dispensary shelves throughout Michigan.

Guests will learn about extraction, packaging, compliance procedures, operational scaling, and the realities of building a recognizable cannabis brand in one of the most competitive cannabis markets in the country.

Guests will learn about cultivation, processing, packaging, compliance procedures, brand development, and the realities of building one of Michigan’s most recognizable cannabis brands in an increasingly competitive market.

Chocolate, founder of Hytek, believes the tours give consumers a rare opportunity to see the real work and culture behind modern cannabis operations.

“People usually only see the finished product on the shelf,” Chocolate said. “What they don’t see is the amount of hustle, creativity, attention to detail, and teamwork that goes into building a brand and producing quality cannabis at scale. These tours let people experience that side of the industry firsthand.”

Building Cannabis Tourism in Michigan

Berry believes cannabis tourism represents a natural next step for the legal cannabis industry as consumers increasingly seek immersive experiences tied to culture, education, and authenticity.

“People tour wineries, breweries, distilleries, and farms every day,” Berry said. “Cannabis is becoming part of that broader tourism conversation. Consumers want experiences now — they want to meet the people behind the brands and understand how everything works.”

Each experience includes round-trip transportation, guided facility access, structured educational components, and opportunities for guests to engage directly with operators and cultivation professionals in compliant environments.

Michigan Marijuana Tours plans to continue expanding tour offerings throughout Michigan while building partnerships with cultivators, processors, hospitality groups, tourism organizations, and cannabis brands interested in experiential marketing opportunities.

Future experiences may include additional cultivation tours, processing facility access, seasonal events, educational workshops, collaborative brand activations, and cannabis-focused tourism experiences throughout the state.
