Author James P. Taylor combines laughter, curiosity, and biblical inspiration to show young readers that being wonderfully different is no mistake.
SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA: What if the very things that make someone look or act different are exactly what make them special? In author James P. Taylor’s newly released children’s book, God’s Creation Workshop: Every Creature Has a Purpose, young readers are taken on a delightful journey into a heavenly workshop where curiosity leads to timeless life lessons.
Guided by God and a young character named Michael, children meet an array of fascinating animals, from a duck-billed platypus and a hardworking chicken to a fainting goat and a spiky pufferfish. Through gentle humor and relatable moments, the story addresses a question every child eventually asks: What if someone feels too different? The reassuring message echoes throughout the book: being different is not a flaw, but an intentional part of God’s design.
About the Book
Published in October 2026, God’s Creation Workshop blends vibrant imagery, lighthearted humor, and foundational scriptural truths (such as Psalm 139:14) to address self-doubt and celebrate individuality. Through Michael’s fun interactions with God in the workshop, children learn that every creature, no matter how quirky, noisy, or small, has a specific role and value.
Whether discovering how a tiny dung beetle helps the soil grow greener or how a pufferfish stays safe, young readers come away with a comforting reminder that you were made with care, you are loved, and you have a purpose.
The Inspiration Behind the Story
The heart behind God’s Creation Workshop comes from a simple, grounding mission: wanting to teach children about God’s wonderful creations and reassure them of their intrinsic value. As a husband, father, storyteller, and lifelong Christian, James P. Taylor wanted to craft a story that blends wonder with spiritual reassurance.
“No matter how different or unique each of us is, God has given us all a purpose.”
— James P. Taylor
