Game Synopsis
Goldilock One: The Mists of Jakaíra is an open-world action RPG that blends exploration, survival, and deep narrative within a science-fiction universe. Its setting merges elements of classic medieval and fantasy worlds with advanced futuristic technology.
The player awakens with no memories in Nebegarde, an open-air prison located in the most hostile region of a distant planet, shrouded in freezing mists and constant threats. To survive, players must explore dangerous environments, face relentless enemies, gather resources, and craft equipment while uncovering the mysteries behind their exile.Featuring dynamic combat, a strong focus on narrative choices, and interaction with memorable characters—some of whom can become playable allies—the game offers a journey in which every decision impacts both the world and the story. Goldilock One invites players to fight not only for survival, but for the meaning of their own existence in a place seemingly forgotten by society, yet revealed to be a region of strategic scarcity, essential to maintaining the privileges of those who control the planet’s central and developed regions.
In Goldilock One, you take on the role of an exile condemned to Nebegarde, the cold and inhospitable side of the planet, a place where only the worst criminals are sent. With your memories hazy and surrounded by fellow convicts, your mission is simple: survive and perhaps uncover the truth behind your condemnation. Were you truly guilty? Or is there something more sinister at play?
Immerse yourself in an environment where a dense and conflict-ridden plot is skillfully woven by the political powers that control the exile. Confront creatures born from dubious genetic experiments in a region that exists on the fringes of civilization on this new planet. Unravel the secrets hidden by dangers and beings that emerge from the mists of the legendary entity Jakaíra, blending international mythologies with elements of national folklore and Tupi-Guarani myths.
Goldilock One stands out for its fusion of multiple game genres. Intense and action-packed Hack and Slash combat is intertwined with moments of deep strategy, where every move counts. Managing your skills and resources while observing the behavior of your opponents will be crucial to triumph.
The Party system allows you to switch between different group members during battles, utilizing their unique abilities to overcome challenges and solve puzzles that permeate the mysterious environments of Nebegarde.

- Dynamic Narrative and Dilemma System: Your decisions shape the world around you. The game’s dilemma system offers multiple ways to complete quests and solve puzzles, with outcomes that deeply affect the story’s progression.
What we think is the most unique factor about our game that will stand out from our competitors.
The most unique factor is the dynamic relationship-driven companion system, where NPCs evolve based on trust, and can become playable characters depending on the player’s choices. This mechanic blends narrative depth with gameplay consequences, allowing players to shape not only the story, but also their party composition and survival strategy. Combined with a bleak sci-fi setting rooted in exile, scarcity, and psychological tension, Goldilock One offers a deeply personal and morally challenging survival RPG experience that goes beyond traditional genre boundaries.
What feeling will players be left with after experiencing our game?
Players will be left with a blend of emotional tension and quiet nostalgia. The harshness of exile, survival, and difficult choices creates a strong sense of weight and urgency, balanced by moments of calm exploration, thoughtful dialogue, and a slow, deliberate progression reminiscent of classic RPGs. As bonds form with companions and the story unfolds, players may feel echoes of older, character-driven adventures—reimagined within a darker, more mature setting.
By reintroducing and reimagining key elements from classic role-playing games, the experience is designed to linger beyond the screen, evoking reflection and a subtle longing for the genre’s golden age. At the same time, players are encouraged to feel deeply intrigued by the unfolding of the protagonist’s journey, the narrative mysteries, and the evolving relationship system with NPCs, making each connection and choice an integral part of the adventure.
How do choices matter and impact narrative in our game?
In Goldilock One: The Mists of Jakaira, player choices are deeply tied to social relationships with NPCs. Each NPC has unique relationship variables that evolve based on player actions and dialogue decisions. These relationships directly influence the experience — from the tone and depth of conversations to the availability of quests, opportunities to learn special skills, and even whether an NPC can join as a companion.
Companions aren’t just narrative additions: they can be vital for solving puzzles or engaging in combat, and in those moments, the player can take direct control of them. Choices also affect the evolution of certain NPC-run shops and crafting mechanics, unlocking or limiting items, recipes, and upgrades over time.
Ultimately, these social and systemic consequences shape both the emotional arc of the story and the tactical possibilities in gameplay. The culmination of these dynamics leads to multiple narrative branches and varied endings, making each playthrough a reflection of the player’s unique decisions.
How long will it take for the game to ‘grip’ players and what will that pivotal moment be?
We expect the game to grip players within the first 15 minutes through a key narrative and gameplay moment: a combat training simulation embedded in the game’s lore as an augmented reality system used by prisoners. Despite the broader setting of scarcity and survival, this simulation allows us to showcase a more complete and advanced combat experience early on—featuring full armor sets, elemental crystals, and socket-based equipment customization.
This moment is pivotal because it offers a glimpse of the game’s deeper systems and long-term progression, while giving players immediate, hands-on access to dynamic combat mechanics. It sparks curiosity and motivation by revealing what’s possible later in the game, creating a satisfying contrast between the controlled training scenario and the harsh reality players will face right after. It’s designed to hook players early with a taste of power, strategy, and potential.
Does Goldilock One have any ecological appeal?
“Goldilock One fits the eco-dystopian category because it is rooted in a narrative that reflects humanity’s environmental mistakes taken to the limit. First, humans on Earth worsened global warming until they created the perfect conditions for an alien race to claim the planet. Driven to the frozen poles, their last alternative was a desperate race through space in search of a new home — until they discovered Goldilock One, a world of extremes, where one side is a scorching desert and the other an eternal frozen night.
But salvation soon turned into the repetition of old mistakes. Humanity, fragmented into isolated kingdoms and cultures, once again sank into conflict, inequality, and segregation. What began as hope for reconstruction became a stage for scarcity, genetic experiments, social tensions, and exile into hostile lands.
The game places players in a world that echoes Earth’s collapse and projects a future where survival, a fragile relationship with the environment, and ethical choices reveal what it means to lose — more than once — our balance with nature.”
Approach to Diversity and Social Themes in the Game
In Goldilock One: The Mists of Jakaíra, themes of diversity and social exclusion are explored in a narrative and symbolic way through the conflict between the Royal Ring and the so-called Ill-Born.
The Ill-Born display visible genetic alterations in their skin, which function as an immediate marker of difference. This physical trait makes them targets of stigmatization, segregation, and institutional violence, establishing a direct parallel with historical and contemporary mechanisms of racial prejudice, in which visible bodily attributes are used to justify social hierarchies, dehumanization, and exclusion.
Within the game’s universe, this visible difference does not represent real inferiority, but is instead used by the dominant system as a tool of control. The Royal Ring upholds a discourse of “purity” and “order” that masks practices of social and racial eugenics, shifting the responsibility for marginalization onto the individual’s body. As in structural racism, the exclusion of the Ill-Born is not based on individual actions, but on an identity imposed from birth.
These representations appear through:
– The way NPCs visually and verbally react to the Ill-Born
– The exclusion from spaces, rights, and opportunities within the game world
– The normalization of exile and confinement as an “acceptable” solution
– Personal character narratives that either internalize or resist this stigma
By placing the player in direct contact with these realities, the game proposes a critical reflection on racial prejudice, systemic dehumanization, and the social construction of difference, using science fiction as a tool to address real-world issues of diversity, identity, and belonging.
