And speaking of the Royal Albert Hall, did you know that Ian’s first appearance on a Deep Purple album was on Concerto for Group and Orchestra? Composed by keyboardist Jon Lord, with lyrics by Ian Gillan, this groundbreaking work was performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 1969 alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Malcolm Arnold.
It was a landmark moment in rock history, bringing together the worlds of classical music and hard rock in a way that had rarely been seen before.
Ian Gillan’s Talking Gib’rish Tour is your chance to hear the stories behind moments like these, straight from the man who lived them.
Expect fascinating tales, rock ‘n’ roll memories and plenty of surprises from one of music’s most legendary voices!
