India 1000, a national initiative to identify and honor 1000 of India’s most promising school students, is seeing enthusiastic participation from schools across the country.
Backed by professionals from the Government of India, Ivy League academicians, and leading entrepreneurs and billionaires, the initiative aims to create a credible platform that recognizes talent based on aptitude, curiosity, and clarity of thought — not just academic scores.
Students from Class 6 to 12 can apply and appear for an online exam that evaluates their mathematics, science, and personality. Winners will receive a prize worth ₹1,00,000 each and an invitation to a national-level event in Bangalore attended by experts from education, public policy, and industry.
The program is structured across three categories:
- Junior (Class 6–7)
- Intermediate (Class 8–10)
- Senior (Class 11–12)
The application process is completely online and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. To ensure inclusivity, students from government schools can apply at a subsidized fee of ₹250 (₹1000 for others).
District Education Officers and school principals across multiple states have already begun encouraging participation through official channels and school networks.
“India 1000 is a platform designed to spotlight students with strong potential — regardless of where they come from,” said a spokesperson from the organizing team.
