Modern travelers often struggle to keep track of their journeys, bucket lists, and upcoming itineraries. Traditional travel journals get lost, physical scratch maps collect dust, and generic travel planning tools rarely capture the personal milestones that matter. Fragmented apps and messy note-taking tools fail to provide a single, engaging space where people can document past adventures and plan future trips with clarity.
Visited App solves this problem by combining interactive scratch maps, custom travel lists, and personalized statistics into an intuitive travel tracking platform. In this interview, Anna Kayfitz discusses how the platform helps millions of travelers visualize their journeys, prioritize new destinations, and preserve meaningful memories without compromising personal privacy.
Q: Many travelers rely on fragmented notes or static maps to document their trips. What core frustration inspired the creation of Visited App, and how does it rethink travel tracking?

Anna Kayfitz: When I used to travel my biggest frustration was to keep track of all the countries, which is how Visited was created. Another issue that travelers have is to remember all the places they want to see or do. For example, when I was in Iceland a woman mentioned a national park but since I was in blue lagoon I did not write it and to this day I can’t remember what places I should see.
Q: Visited App offers more than 150 curated travel lists spanning categories like world heritage sites, culinary experiences, and national parks. How do these lists help users move from casual inspiration to concrete travel plans?
Anna Kayfitz: Everyone travels for different reasons and with different interests. If someone is interested in art they will want to visit local art museums, while someone else loves to ski and will want to ski at different ski slopes. Keeping track of places you have been to and adding new ones to the list can ensure you never forget to visit a place of interest again.
Q: User privacy has become a major concern in mobile apps, especially around location data. How does Visited App deliver rich personalized travel insights while avoiding GPS tracking and metadata harvesting?
Anna Kayfitz: Unlike other apps in the marketplace we do not track your location, or scan your photos for meta data. We rely on user input to populate your travels and wishes. Your data is also secured that is why we ask for sign-up to ensure the data is yours.
Q: Travel is often a collaborative experience shared with partners, families, and friends. How do features like Shared Maps and travel stat comparisons enhance the social aspect of planning and reminiscing?
Anna Kayfitz: Our users have mentioned they want to compare their maps with their friends. This way it will help them plan destinations that they both want to visit and see overlap of past travels.
Q: Beyond digital tracking, Visited App allows users to turn their maps into physical printed posters. Why was bridging the gap between digital logs and tangible home keepsakes an important step for your platform?
Anna Kayfitz: It actually started as a gift giving idea. It is a great anniversary gift of places couples have been to together or plan to go this year or next. It is also a great way to start your vision board and display your travels with pride.
Q: As global travel patterns shift and travelers demand more personalized itineraries, what role will data analytics and traveler profiling play in the next generation of travel planning?
Anna Kayfitz: Right now our app allows for travel stats such as the type of traveler you are, how many places and cities you have been to and how you rank among other travelers. We are hoping to continue to enhance not only personal travel stats but also more personalized travel itineraries and places to discover.
Documenting personal travel milestones should be as inspiring as the journeys themselves. By turning simple destination checkmarks into detailed regional maps, bucket lists, and collaborative planning tools, travelers can stay organized while celebrating their unique wanderlust.
As travel continues to evolve toward personalized experiences and privacy-first digital tools, dedicated platforms will define how people remember the world. Visited App continues to lead this shift by providing travelers everywhere with an accessible, engaging, and secure way to map their lives.
