Australian author Ricky Melwani has expanded the TECHMAN series with TECHMAN Part Two: The Age of Intelligence and Language, a science-fiction and techno-thriller novel that pushes its central character into a new technological mystery.
Published on August 4, 2026, the second instalment builds on the world introduced in TECHMAN Part One while widening the story across advanced computing, medical research, cyber threats, military operations and questions surrounding the limits of human understanding.
At the centre of the story is Aaron, a young man living with an advanced brain chip that gives him extraordinary computational and analytical abilities.
This time, however, Aaron encounters something that even his enhanced mind cannot immediately explain.
Unknown languages begin appearing across interconnected technological systems.
They are not conventional human languages, and existing translation technology cannot make sense of them. Their structures continue to change, forcing Aaron to look beyond ordinary decoding methods and develop new technology capable of identifying the patterns behind them.
The mystery becomes one of four interconnected story arcs running through the novel.
Alongside Aaron’s investigation, Dr. Robert continues pushing medical technology into increasingly experimental territory. His work moves into human trials supported by advanced robotic systems EIDOLON and EDIOS, raising new questions about how far technology should be allowed to intervene in the human body.
A third storyline follows the growing threat of the Phantom Syndicate, drawing Aaron and his team into intelligence gathering, military operations and a wider struggle involving sophisticated technology and global security.
Meanwhile, a fourth threat develops quietly in the background, gradually connecting events that initially appear unrelated.
Rather than treating technology simply as futuristic scenery, Melwani uses it as a driving force behind the characters’ decisions, risks and conflicts.
The novel explores what may happen when technological development begins moving faster than humanity’s ability to fully understand or control it.
“My aim is to combine big technological ideas with action, mystery and character-driven storytelling,” Melwani said.
The story also explores questions surrounding artificial intelligence, brain-computer technology, unknown forms of communication, advanced medicine, cybersecurity and scientific responsibility.
At approximately 635 pages, The Age of Intelligence and Language substantially expands the scale of the TECHMAN universe while continuing Aaron’s development and setting the stage for the conflicts that follow.
