The program ranks mobile diesel mechanics on verified job outcomes and driver votes, never paid placement, across twenty metros and the freight corridors that connect them.
Kansas City, MO — Every year, millions of commercial trucks break down on American highways, and the drivers standing on those shoulders have had no trustworthy way to know which mobile mechanic will actually show up, fix it the first time, and charge what they quoted. Rig, the leading breakdown network for commercial diesel, announced the 2026 Regional Diesel Awards: an annual program naming the best mobile diesel mechanics in major freight markets, from Kansas City to Laredo to Reno, published on a dedicated award site for each market.
The awards are built on a standard the industry has lacked: verified work. Every ranking starts with real breakdowns that were dispatched, completed, and paid through the Rig network, combined with votes from the drivers, owner-operators, and fleet managers who had the work done. Shops cannot buy a place, there is no entry fee, and every edition publishes its methodology in full.
Each market runs the awards its drivers actually care about: Readers’ Choice and Drivers’ Choice, decided by the people who had trucks fixed; Fastest Response and Easiest to Book, measured from live dispatch data; First-Visit Fix and Highest Driver Satisfaction, measured from repair outcomes and post-job ratings; and the Dispatch Desk Straw Poll, where Rig’s own dispatchers answer one question: if it were your truck down here, who would you call first?
“The diesel repair industry runs on reputation, but reputation has always been local and word of mouth,” said Alex Savenok, Co-founder and CEO of Rig Technologies. “We operate the network that sees the actual outcomes: who rolled, how fast, whether it stayed fixed, and what the driver said after paying. Publishing that, market by market, makes the whole industry more honest.”
“Drivers have been choosing the best mechanics in these markets for years with their callbacks and repeat business. Nobody was writing it down,” said Josh Melick, COO of Rig. “We have the data and these awards write it down. Every number behind them comes from a real truck that broke down and got fixed, and that is why a shop can hang this award on the wall and mean it.”
The 2026 series covers twenty markets in eight freight regions, each with its own award edition:

“Dispatchers see which shops answer at 3am and which ones let it ring,” said David of the Rig dispatch team. “The winners on these lists are the names we trust with our own board every night. Drivers deserve to know them too.”
