In a music industry saturated with highly produced, commercialized tracks, listeners crave authentic connection and emotional depth. Audiences want songs that resonate on a personal level rather than just following trends. Independent artists who can cut through the noise and foster genuine digital communities are quickly becoming the true voices of modern music.

Marko, the fast-rising Canadian singer-songwriter and creator behind Marko Music Song, offers a refreshing solution to this problem. He delivers heartfelt lyrics and mesmerising melodies that unite listeners worldwide. With his latest single, “Une chance que tu es là,” alongside recent releases such as “One’s heart (Version 2026)” and “Inside (Version Reggae 2026)”, he continues his mission to spread messages of love, unity, and hope. We sat down with Marko to discuss his new release, his creative evolution, and how he builds meaningful connections with his global fanbase.

Q: Your new single, “Une chance que tu es là,” is already drawing thousands of listeners globally. What was the core inspiration behind this specific track?

Marko: It came from gratitude, plainly. The title says it – “lucky that you’re here.” So many of us carry someone who steadies us: a partner, a friend, a parent, sometimes a whole community of people we’ve never met in person. I wanted to write the song you’d send to that person instead of trying to find the words yourself. I kept the melody warm and the lyrics simple on purpose, because the feeling is universal even if the language is French. You don’t need to translate “thank you for being here.”

Q: You recently surpassed 95,000 subscribers on your YouTube channel. How do you approach building such an authentic connection with your digital community?

Marko: I treat it like a conversation, not a broadcast. I read the comments, I reply, I remember the regulars. When someone tells me a song helped them through a hard night, that matters more to me than any view count. I try to show up as the same person whether ten people are watching or ten thousand. People can feel when an artist is performing a connection versus actually offering it – so I just try to be real and present, and the community grows from there on its own.

Q: You have stated that your overarching artistic mission is to use your voice to spread messages of love, unity, and hope. Why are these themes so important to your creative vision right now?

Marko: Because the world feels divided and tired, and music is one of the few things that still crosses every border. Love, unity and hope aren’t naïve to me – they’re a choice you make on purpose. I’d rather use the small platform I have to remind people of what connects us than add to the noise pulling us apart. If a song of mine makes someone feel a little less alone or a little more hopeful for one day, that’s the whole point.

Q: Transitioning from a passionate music lover to the creator of the successful Marko Music Song brand is a significant journey. How has your songwriting process evolved since you first started?

Marko: In the beginning I chased the production – I wanted everything to sound big and polished right away. Over time I learned to start with the emotion and let the song tell me what it needs. Now I write the feeling first, often just voice and a few chords, and only build the arrangement once the heart of it is honest. I also listen more. My audience teaches me which songs truly land, and that feedback has made me braver about being vulnerable rather than just catchy.

Q: Your fanbase spans across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. How does engaging with listeners from diverse backgrounds across different platforms influence your music?

Marko: Each platform shows me a different side of the same human truth. TikTok teaches me what grabs people in three seconds; YouTube is where they sit with a full song and really feel it; Instagram and Facebook are where the deeper conversations happen. Hearing from people in so many countries and cultures reminds me to write things that travel – emotions everyone recognizes, even across a language barrier. That’s part of why I’m comfortable releasing in French and trusting the feeling to carry it everywhere.

Q: Looking ahead, what do you hope listeners take away from “Une chance que tu es là,” and what can your fans expect next from your musical journey?

Marko: I hope they finish the song and immediately think of someone they’re grateful for – and then actually tell that person. If the music turns into a real moment between two people, it’s done its job. As for what’s next, I’m going to keep writing from that same honest place, keep experimenting with sound, and keep building this community song by song. There’s much more coming, and I want my listeners to feel like they’re part of the journey, not just an audience to it.

Fostering a genuine connection with an audience goes far beyond simply releasing tracks. It requires vulnerability, a clear artistic mission, and a commitment to storytelling. Our conversation with Marko highlights how an independent artist can build a thriving, global community by remaining true to their core message and prioritizing emotional resonance.

As the digital landscape for musicians continues to evolve, creators who prioritize authentic engagement and uplifting themes will always stand out. Marko’s ongoing success serves as a powerful reminder that music rooted in love, unity, and hope will consistently find a dedicated audience.
