Q: What drove NordStellar to develop and integrate an AI assistant?
Vakaris Noreika, head of product at NordStellar: We released an MCP server for NordStellar that allows organizations to connect AI assistants to our data. What drove us to build it is a belief that a meaningful part of the internet is moving toward “headless” products — platforms that are used through agents and chat interfaces rather than a traditional SaaS web UI. As AI assistants and agents have gotten more capable, customers increasingly want to interact with a product through conversation rather than logging in to another dashboard. We think that’s the direction a lot of SaaS is heading, and threat intelligence is a great fit for it.
Q: Security teams already deal with tool fatigue. How does this AI assistant simplify their daily workflow rather than complicating it?
Vakaris Noreika, head of product at NordStellar: We’re not shipping another AI system for teams to learn. We’re shipping an MCP server that lets the AI assistants they already have — or are already building in-house — use NordStellar directly. A lot of security teams are building their own agents that connect to multiple parts of their infrastructure and multiple platforms. Our MCP lets them plug NordStellar’s threat intelligence into that same agent alongside their other data sources, instead of adding another standalone tool to their stack. That’s what unlocks new use cases — combining our data with context they already have elsewhere.
Q: Speed is critical during an active incident. How much faster can teams identify and contain threats using this new automated system?
Vakaris Noreika, head of product at NordStellar: Substantially faster. Work that used to take hours of manual review can often happen in minutes. AI agents are very good at parsing large volumes of data quickly and reacting to it, so the time from identifying the first signals to understanding what actionable steps to take is significantly reduced.
Q: Relying on artificial intelligence for security decisions raises concerns about accuracy. How do you ensure the AI assistant minimizes false positives?
Vakaris Noreika, head of product at NordStellar: This is where the distinction really matters — we don’t build the AI model or the assistant itself, so accuracy and hallucination rates depend heavily on the model vendor and the chat application or agent framework the customer is using. What we control is the data we hand over — through the MCP, that data is cleaned, verified, and delivered in defined formats before it ever reaches the AI, and then it is cross-referenced against the customer’s actual assets to filter out unrelated threats. That reduces the chance of the AI improvising its own logic, but the ultimate accuracy of the assistant sits with whichever AI system the customer has chosen to connect.
Q: Does this AI assistant replace human analysts, or how does it change the role of the traditional security professional?
Vakaris Noreika, head of product at NordStellar: It doesn’t replace analysts. What we’re seeing in the market right now is security operations teams building their own in-house AI assistants and SOC copilots. Our MCP lets them plug NordStellar’s threat intelligence straight into those agents and workflows. It doesn’t take the decision-making away from analysts — it lets their existing or in-development agents do more of the legwork and do it more accurately, so analysts can focus on remediation rather than manual data analysis.
Q: As cyber threats continue to grow in complexity, what future capabilities do you plan to add to this tool?
Vakaris Noreika, head of product at NordStellar: We want to keep leaning into the idea that customers can build on top of NordStellar rather than waiting for us to ship every feature ourselves. Because the MCP exposes our threat intelligence data directly, customers can already use AI to generate custom reports or build capabilities that aren’t native to our platform today. It also lets them enrich their own AI systems with threat intelligence context that those models wouldn’t otherwise have and combine NordStellar with other MCPs across their company for a much fuller picture when responding to or managing an alert. Expanding what’s exposed through the MCP as well as making it easier to combine with other data sources is where we’re focused next.
