More than 66 million people around the world already use iSharing to keep track of family and friends. Now, drivers in Korea can do the same thing without ever touching their phone. The GPS location-tracking app has launched on the Hyundai Motor Group Pleos App Market, bringing its core features directly onto the vehicle dashboard.
Pleos is Hyundai Motor Group’s in-vehicle app platform, built to let drivers download and run applications from within the car itself. With iSharing now part of that lineup, drivers using the ‘Pleos Connect’ App Market can pull up a family member’s live location right on the display and send it straight to their navigation app as a destination — no phone in hand required. From there, adding a stop or adjusting the route takes just a few taps on the same screen, and voice control means most of it can be done without looking away from the road.
The integration also solves a smaller but familiar headache: knowing whether a loved one’s phone is about to die. Drivers can now check a connected phone’s battery level directly from the dashboard, so a dead battery doesn’t mean losing track of someone mid-drive.
It’s the first time iSharing’s tracking features have moved beyond mobile devices into a connected-car environment, and the company sees it as part of a bigger shift in how people expect to stay in touch with each other.
