Studios Behind Meta Quest’s #1 Game Commit $2M to Back the Next Wave of VR Developers

After helping launch one of the biggest VR success stories on Meta Quest, ENVER Studio and Trass Games are formalising a new approach to supporting independent VR developers, with a commitment of up to $2 million in future investments.

The two studios announced a joint initiative to fund, support, and collaborate with emerging VR teams, using the recent success of UG as a proof point for how the model works in practice. Developed by ContinuumXR, UG is currently the top-selling title on the Meta Quest Store.

Rather than operating purely as traditional publishers, ENVER Studio and Trass Games are positioning themselves as long-term partners for VR studios. The model combines early-stage capital with hands-on involvement across product development, go-to-market strategy, creator-led marketing, and social distribution.

UG represents the first public example of this approach. ENVER and Trass Games worked closely with ContinuumXR throughout development and launch, acting as funding partners and advisors rather than distant financiers. Their involvement spanned positioning, creator strategy, and marketing execution, contributing to the game’s rapid climb to the top of the Meta Quest charts following its launch.

“UG shows what’s possible when strong developers are backed by partners who understand how VR games actually succeed today,” said Kyle Joyce, Co-Founder and CEO of ENVER. “This collaboration with Trass Games is about building a repeatable model. We want to find the next studios with real potential and give them the resources and guidance to scale.”

The announcement comes at a time when visibility and distribution remain major challenges for VR developers, even as the overall quality and volume of content on platforms like Meta Quest continues to grow. ENVER and Trass Games argue that capital alone is rarely enough. Instead, they see close collaboration and operational support as essential for helping new titles break through.

ContinuumXR selected ENVER and Trass Games as partners based on their track record and shared standards for quality. ENVER currently occupies several of the top positions on the Meta Quest Store with titles including MotoX and Scary Baboon, while Trass Games is best known for Yeeps: Hide and Seek, which has remained a top 10 best-selling VR game for the past two years.

According to the studios, the $2 million commitment will be deployed selectively across emerging teams building original VR experiences designed to scale through community engagement and social discovery. While no additional partners have been announced yet, both companies confirmed they are actively looking for what comes next.

“This isn’t a one-off,” said Jack Southard, founder of Trass Games. “UG validates the model. We’re partnering early with developers who have real creative ambition, and we’re helping them turn breakout ideas into category-defining VR games.”

Both ENVER and Trass Games also emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive, long-term relationship with ContinuumXR as UG continues to evolve. The teams described the collaboration as highly productive and said they expect to remain closely involved as the game grows.

UG is available now on Meta Quest.
