Is EMC and Conexon Connect Turning a Blind Eye to Unpaid Contractors

Thomasville, GA – In a shocking revelation, Kendric T. Bedell, a telecom technician known as Jimmy Black The Journeyman, exposes severe payment issues within the Grady market Fiber project. After completing work assigned by Benton Technical Services through DC Installs for Conexon Connect, Bedell has not received payment for over 30 internet customer installations, resulting in outstanding claims exceeding $12,000.

Despite initial promises, the lack of communication from Benton and Conexon Connect has left Bedell without compensation for over seven months. This situation has forced contractors to source their own supplies while navigating a frustratingly ineffective system.

Through outreach to fellow technicians, Bedell uncovered that over 57 individuals are facing similar billing discrepancies related to Benton Communications, highlighting a troubling trend where technicians complete work yet remain unpaid, as companies retain funds meant for contractor payments. Bedell questions whether EMC and Conexon Connect are overlooking the struggles of their contractors.

“This unacceptable situation cannot continue. I am prepared to escalate this matter to ensure fair compensation for my work and for those similarly affected,” Bedell stated, expressing frustration over potential discrimination and systemic communication failures.

Bedell emphasizes the critical role of the following cooperatives, which own the poles utilized by Conexon Connect and hire Benton for technician services:

– Central Georgia EMC: (478) 986-3121, Email: customerservice@cgemc.com

– Southern Rivers Energy: (706) 647-2191, Email: info@southernriversenergy.com

– Washington EMC: (706) 678-2121, Email: customerservice@washingtonemc.com

– Irwin EMC: (229) 468-2621, Email: info@irwinemc.com

Conexon Connect also partners with:

– Flint Energies (Georgia)

– Mountain View Electric Association (Colorado)

– Tri-County Electric Cooperative (Florida)

If these issues are not resolved promptly, Bedell is ready to share his story with more media outlets and advocacy groups to ensure that payment and workers’ voices are heard, and potentially help to stop funding for fraudulent practices.
